Research
My primary research focus is on application and development of statistical analysis methods for pharmacogenomics, statistical genetics, and microbiome research in cancer. For predictive cancer biomarkers to optimize cancer therapy as a personalized medicine. I have developed the CONCORD and PDXGEM pipelines, which analyze gene expression patterns and gene co-expression networks across cancer cell lines, patient-derived tumor xenografts, and cancer patients. I also developed GLMMSA (generalized linear model-based mutational signature assignment) for analyzing whole exome sequencing data with a limited sample size. I recently developed PharmacoMicrobiome pipeline to identify multi-microbial signature for predicting response to cancer therapy in cancer patients. These pipelines enable the prediction of therapeutic response and facilitate drug repurposing. My recent research has centered on molecular cancer biomarker discovery, microbiome-wide association study, and genetic association studies to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment outcomes.
